STOP PRESS - 1 April 2009

After (for us) a relatively quiet start to the year, March has been an exciting month for us with:

* Five projects attracting investments totaling £1.3m during the month.
* The first funding round of the Beer & Partners EIS Scheme closing.
* A record high of new clients taken on seeking funding.

Since the turn of the year we have welcomed over 50 new investors interested in the type of investment opportunities that we act for.

Beer & Partners EIS Scheme

The scheme is about to make its first investments and a second closing will be arranged to reflect the timing and amount of further subscriptions, to suit investors. There is no shortage of the right type of deal flow.  A minimum investment of £25,000 into the Beers EIS Scheme gives investors a tax efficient portfolio of early stage companies of high potential, chosen and managed by a team led by an experienced and successful private investor, who has invested his own funds in the Scheme.

London Investment Fair 13th May 2009

Our 19th London Investment Fair will take place on Wednesday 13th May at Mark Masons' Hall in the West End. If you are looking for the next wave of new businesses and want to make the most of the lack of bank finance for small businesses we look forward to seeing you at this event. We also look forward to catching up with many of our regular attendees and finding out your views on the current business climate.

The event is free to our registered investors and we already have clients reserving places who we believe will interest you. If you haven’t already registered that you may attend please contact Jane Beer (jbeer@beerandpartners.com) or telephone 08701 633 033 to confirm or ask for further details. For those of you who have not attended before and would like more information do please call or email.

UK angel investors survey

We are participating in the Survey of UK angel investors, which is part of the RICAFE2 project coordinated by Prof. Marco Da Rin at the London School of Economics (LSE). The Survey aims at providing new insights useful for your investment activities.
Around 40 respondents and a good number of companies completed this from our Stop Press in February.
