STOP PRESS 1 APR '10
Nearly every business plan we review (now over 3,000 per year) starts off with a plan to exit by floatation or trade sale within 3 years. We all know practically that this is likely to be 4-7 years and nearly always a trade sale. Therefore it is inevitable with early stage investments that news regarding successful exits take a long time to report back to you... However, we are delighted to report that this week a company funded by us for £1m in three tranches between November 2008 and November 2009 has just exited by way of a trade sale, which has enabled the investor to double his investment. With an average period of investment of around 8 months the investor has made a return of 150% on his investment. London Investment Fair 18th May 2010
Our 21st (coming of age?) London Investment Fair will take place on Tuesday 18th May in the West End. Now in its 11th year, this event attracts up to 150 private investors with a typical third of exhibiting companies successfully raising capital from the day. Only 30 places are available for Businesses seeking funding and we are actively looking for companies with a compelling investment opportunity who wish to raise funding. If you know of any such companies from early stage to pre-IPO wanting to raise funds in the £100k-£2.5m range, please let Rod Beer (beer@beerandpartners.com) know and he will forward details. Our last Fair in November was our most successful yet when we had a record number of investors attending and have already delivered over £1.8m of funding to 8 of the companies who presented.
The event is free to our registered investors and we already have clients reserving places who we believe will interest you. If you haven’t already registered that you would like to attend either the Fair or one of our Beer Investment Evenings (hosted by St James’s Place Wealth Management on the last Thursday of every month in London) please contact James Leay (leay@beerandpartners.com) or telephone 020 7329 4884 to confirm or ask for further details. For those of you who have not attended before and would like more information do please call or email.
